50 Cent has expressed concerns about the hyper-sexualization of female rappers in mainstream hip-hop, arguing that the lack of balance could have a negative impact on female culture.

In an interview with comedian Michael Perry, the G-Unit leader shared his hope for a breakout female rapper whose success isn’t tied to sexual appeal. “I just want somebody to break [through] that is not trying to sell some box,” he said, acknowledging the prevalence of sex-positive rap but warning that it “might be damaging female culture.”

Reflecting on his own risqué hits like Candy Shop, 50 Cent compared his use of metaphors to the explicit nature of today’s female rap. He cited Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, and Ice Spice as prominent figures in this trend, along with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, whose chart-topping songs like Super Freaky Girl and WAP embody the movement.

Critics of 50 Cent’s viewpoint pointed to artists like Doja Cat and Doechii, who have achieved success with more diverse approaches to their music and image. The discussion also mirrors recent remarks by Fabolous, who lamented the lack of variety in female rap and called for more authentic storytelling.

50 Cent’s comments have reignited debates about the direction of female rap and its cultural impact, leaving fans and industry insiders divided on whether the genre needs a broader focus.
