After nearly four decades apart, two long-lost sisters finally reunited.
Darragh Hannan and Jee Won Ha, born just 14 months apart in South Korea, were separated for most of their lives after being adopted by different families and raised in different countries. However, on Friday, October 25, the sisters met in person for the first time at an airport in Seoul.
“We were emotional—crying, laughing, feeling joyful, and a bit anxious,” shared Darragh, a 39-year-old project manager for a museum exhibit builder, alongside 38-year-old Jee Won, who runs a knitting and sewing shop, in an email to PEOPLE.
“Since then, it’s been a similar experience, in the best way,” they continued. “We feel comfortable with each other and discuss profound topics like our emotions and the impact of our journeys, while also joking around and enjoying laughter as we create these unique memories together.”
