Controls were carried out in the neighborhoods of Shkodra, including Dobraç, Kiras, Rus, and Dergut, as well as in the villages of Shtoj i Ri and Shtoj i Vjetër. The operations took place during the evening hours of Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday (December 12).
At around 2:00 AM, police entered the residence of Safet Bajri, where, according to sources they found a savings box containing €19,000. Bajri claimed that the money was savings for his 1-year-old daughter. Officers also seized two cell phones, belonging to him and his wife. Safet Bajri was questioned and later released, as no arrest warrant has been issued against him so far.
Police searched 10 homes and seized at least 5 armored vehicles in the Dobraç neighborhood. Some of these vehicles were reportedly found at the villa of Behar Bajri’s brother, who is Safet Bajri’s first cousin. Interestingly, the villas of the two cousins are located next to each other, but sources close to them claim that Safet and Behar Bajri do not communicate.
The moment when two armored luxury “Mercedes-Benz” vehicles arrived at the Shkodra Police Directorate, followed by a Mitsubishi with foreign license plates was published on the media.
