Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, appeared to weigh in on the recent rape allegations against her son-in-law, Jay-Z, before clarifying that her account had been “hacked.”
The controversy arose shortly after Jay-Z, 55, was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs at an afterparty following the 2000 Video Music Awards — allegations he has denied.
Knowles seemingly added fuel to the fire by liking an Instagram post from ABC 7 Chicago detailing the accusations. The post featured a photo of Jay-Z and Diddy with the headline: “Breaking News: Jay-Z, Diddy Named in Lawsuit Alleging Rape of Girl, 13.”
Its caption read, “Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs are accused of raping a then-13-year-old girl at an afterparty following the 2000 Video Music Awards, according to an amended civil lawsuit filed Sunday.”
In response to the backlash, Tina took to social media to deny her involvement, sharing a screenshot of her notes that read, “I was hacked! As you all know, I don’t play with my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me, just know that it is not me!” She captioned the post, “Please stop playing with me!!!! ‘No weapon formed against my family shall prosper.’”
